Burrillville, Rhode Island is a beautiful, rural community of 58 square miles located in the northwest corner of Rhode Island. These villages grew around the original mill complexes, and a felling of tradition and identification with the industrial period endures. Most residents identify primarily by their village name.


The town is centrally located and is an easy commute to Providence, Boston, Worcester and Hartford. With abundant open space, woodlands, pristine lakes, ponds, rivers, streams and awe-inspiring scenery, Burrillville residents enjoy a wonderful quality of life as well as a rich history dating back to America’s Industrial Revolution. Oakland and Harrisville respectively have earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places. Oakland is noted as a pretty village clustered around a substantial stone mill, situated on high ground overlooking a millpond of about 75 acres. Harrisville is now considered the center of Burrillville because of its impressive Town Hall in the middle of the historic district.


Burriville is made up of the villages of Bridgeton, Echo Lake, Gazzaville, Glendale, Graniteville, Harrisville, Huntsville, Laurel Hill, Mapleville, Mohegan, Nasonville, Valley, Oakland, Pascoag, Round Top, Sand Beach, Saxonville, Tarkiln, Wallum Lake, and Whipple.
